With less than two weeks away, Orlando City Commissioner District 5 Candidate Regina Hill is still standing!
Regina has channeled public ridicule into fire that she is using to reignite disengaged voters in District 5.
Regardless of whether you like her or not, you cannot deny her ability to connect to voters in District 5 who are fed up with the local political establishment.
Her opposition has repeatedly said that the citizens Regina speaks to are not voters, passing them off as irrelevant. If they took the time to talk to those ‘non voters,’ as Regina has, they might learn that the reason that those folks have not voted was simply because there was not anyone that they actually wanted to vote for! That is a huge difference between Regina Hill and her opposition!
Every major political training in the country teaches that candidates should spend the majority of their time focusing on the super voter. Fortunately for District 5 voters, Regina is not a typical politician!
Finally, someone has taken the time to speak to those who are not recognized on the walk list. Finally, someone has taken the time to walk up to them to ask ‘what can I do to help?’
Many will say this is not the best ‘political’ move but it certainly has motivated a new base of voters that is sure to grow.
It also should be said that Regina has spent time talking to the super- voter as well. Regina has learned that voters are not pleased with the same recycled politicians they have seen in the past.
The voters seek new political passion from a ‘people person’ who will push them forward. They believe that Hill is the push they need to get up the Hill to achieve new levels in District 5.
After personally spending countless hours speaking with Regina, I can say for certain that her faith and the support that she receives from the community has kept her grounded in her journey.
Many believed Regina would not make it to the end of the fight; even I was someone who was not sure if she had what it took to take on the establishment.
However, it is now clear that when Regina says that ‘she stands for the people and with the people,’ she means every word. After watching her get knocked down and get back up several times, you can rest assured that the people’s champ is still standing!
