A 25-year-old man was killed early on Thursday morning, after the driver of another car ran a red light and slammed into the vehicle he was driving.

Robert Hunter, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, when the 2007 Mazda SUV he was driving was hit by a Honda Civic which ran the red light at Powers Drive.

Hunter was traveling westbound on Colonial Drive when Gangapersad Ramroop, 23, ran the red light at Powers Drive, as he headed northbound.

A third man, Deondra Antonio Mercer, 22, who was on a bicycle traveling westbound on Colonial Drive, heard the initial crash and was able to jump off his bike before the SUV ran over it.  He suffered minor injuries.

Ramroop sustained minor injuries.
