url-1

Public school students would be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as part of their physical education under a measure filed Tuesday.

The bill, HB 557, would require students to complete an accredited CPR course at least once before graduating from high school.

The bill is sponsored by Clay Ford, R-Gulf Breeze. Class times vary, but CPR can be successfully taught in two to three hours.
