According to eyewitnesses, a black BMW Sedan and a white Cadillac sedan were racing, east bound near the intersection of Silver Star Road and Hiawassee.  The black BMW lost control and struck a traffic monitor box then crashed into a fence, before coming to a stop. Witnesses advised that two black males got out of the vehicle. One of the males got into the back seat of a newer model white Cadillac sedan and the other male got into a white Dodge Magnum. Both vehicles fled north bound on Hiawassee from Silver Star Road.

Deputies were called to the scene of the crash and while there, a white Cadillac sedan drove past the crash site, similar to the one that was seen earlier, according to eye witnesses.  The vehicle was heading east bound on Silver Star Road.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop by activating the lights and siren of their patrol car and the Cadillac sedan stopped at Almena Street and Hiawassee.

While questioning the driver of the car, Kyle Jay Baronville, 22 years, detectives detected the smell of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle.  Upon searching the Cadillac sedan, detectives found 15.4 grams of cocaine wrapped in two separate plastic baggies in the front glove compartment.  Detectives also found 1 gram of cannabis, several pieces of shake on the floor of the vehicle and pieces of broken/crumbled cocaine inside the black glove compartment.  A black 40 caliber semi-automatic hand gun was found in the vehicle.  Blood was also smeared on the back seat of the Cadillac.

Baronville, the driver of the Cadillac was arrested for drug violations and for possession of a firearm.   He told detectives that the car belonged to a friend of his, although he was not able to provide a name.

The Orange County deputies are continuing with their investigation.

Florida Highway Patrol is also investigating the crash and charges at this time are not known.
