A well-known Marion County businessman was arrested over the week-end, charged with multiple counts of child pornography.
61-year-old Samuel L. Irvin was taken into custody early on Sunday morning, after detectives executed a search warrant to examine a computer he owned and found numerous images of child porn.
An external hard drive owned by Irvin was also examined and a forensic exam on his computer equipment was undertaken, investigators said. Â Marion County deputies received a tip that Irvin had sent out images of child pornography on several occasions, prompting the investigation.
Irvin was arrested and charged with 29 counts of possession of child pornography and transmission of pornography by electronic device. Â He was booked into the Marion County Jail as is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Irvin has been in the building and development business since 1971 and in 1983 founded Irvin Construction Company Inc., a land and commercial development, cfnews13.com reported.
