President of Bethune-Cookman University, Dr. Trudie Kibbe Reed has resigned.
The Florida Courier first reported on Reed’s resignation plans last Friday.
“The resignation is said to be ‘in the best interest of the school,’ the paper reported and that Reed had already announced her plans to the leadership of the school. The paper also reported that “allegedly, the negotiation on timing and cost will occur before Reed’s departure.”
Reed steps down at a time when a number of incidents have occured at the school, including allegation of illicit sex between teachers and students; termination of longtime employees and almost a dozen lawsuits, according to the Florida Courier.
