Brittney Sierra, 22, was all smiles as charges against her were reduced in the disappearance of her five-month baby boy Dontrell Melvin and she was allowed to walk out of jail, with certain conditions.
Dontrell, initially disappeared in July 2011, but wasn’t reported missing until 18 months later, according to news reports.
Sierra, who led cops to Dontrell’s body in the backyard, was arrested on January 10, and initially charged with child neglect, resulting in bodily harm. On Monday, those charges were downgraded to child neglect.
Calvin Melvin, 28, Dontrell’s father, faces child neglect charges and is being held in the Fort Lauderdale jail on a $158,300 bond.
