A marijuana grow house in Deltona, utilizing siphoned off electricity, caused a black out of several homes on Sunday, Volusia County deputies said.

Power company technicians responded to two houses, one of them at 3321 Fed Fox Drive, after a fuse had blown out a transformer that feeds the power. When a replacement fuse also blew out and started a small fire in the house’s meter box, the technicians got suspicious.

Investigators say, the technicians dug up the ground to check on the power supply line and saw additional wires illegally connected.

Deputies who arrived on the scene discovered a multi-room setup full of potted marijuana plants and equipment. About 69 marijuana plants were recovered.

Ramon Munoz-Rodriguez, 43, the occupant of the house, was arrested on several narcotics charges, including possession and manufacture of marijuana.

Munoz-Rodriguez was booked into the Volusia County Jail in Daytona Beach and is being held on a $9,000 bond.
