Local police are warning about lost and stolen phones at EDC Orlando at Camping World Stadium in downtown.
The Orlando Police Department warned people to “keep a close eye on your phone while at EDC Orlando!”
According to local police, if your phone does go missing at the music festival, here are the steps you should take:
1. If it’s pinging at Camping World Stadium or the Orlando Police Department, go to lost and found.
2. If it is not at lost and found, continue calling – someone from EDC Orlando or OPD will answer the call and reunite you with your phone if they found it.
3. If your phone is turned OFF or pinging anywhere aside from Camping World Stadium or OPD, file a police report at Orlando.gov/police or on the OPD App.
The Electric Daisy Carnival has not been free from Orlando crime in the past, and phones specifically have been reported lost and stolen at previous events. Given the nature of the event, the amount of people, and other conditions of the situation, lost and stolen phones at EDC Orlando are likely.
Local law enforcement reminds the community, “if you see something, say something” by calling 911, or the anonymous tip line Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477) or **TIPS (8477).
