A 19-month-old Titusville toddler died on Friday afternoon, after being run over by a lawnmower which his grandmother was operating, Titusville police said.
Police were called to 4150 Navajo Lane just before 11:00 a.m., where they learned that the boy was riding a trailer attached to the lawnmower, when he fell and suffered a head injury.
“He was riding on the lawnmower with Grandma and somehow fell off and was run over,” said Battalion Chief Scott Gaenicke of Titusville Fire & Emergency Services, reports floridatoday.com. “We believe the blades of the lawnmower struck the child.”
The toddler was taken to Parrish Medical Center by helicopter where he died.
Police have not released the name of the toddler or those involved in the incident.
