Police Target Concert Bootleggers, 12 Arrested

Over the week-end, Orlando police officers arrested 12 persons on charges of offering counterfeit goods for sale and seized a  number of “bootleg” merchandise outside the Amway Center and the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Authorities say, about 250 t-shirts were seized with a retail value of approximately $5,000 and twelve persons were arrested.   Bootleg merchandise were being sold during performances of Justin Beiber, Luke Bryan and Monster Jam, police also said.

Six of the arrestees came from the New York area, two hailed from North Carolina, while the rest came from Georgia, Maryland and Davenport, Florida.

Police say, a thirteenth person was not booked and charges are being forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office at a later date.

The suspects arrested are:

  • 21-year-old Louis Emilio Soto, W/M Hispanic from Alpharetta, Georgia
  • 20-year-old Jorge Alana, B/M Hispanic from Bronx, New York
  • 64-year-old George Todd, B/M from Brooklyn, New York
  • Kenneth Wayne Johnson II, B/M from Hapeville, Georgia
  • 49-year-old John F. W. Watson,  from Davenport, Florida
  • 39-year-old Kevin Watkins, B/M from Concord, North Carolina
  • 42-year-old Kiethon Watkins, B/M from Charlotte, NC
  • 23-year-old Joseph Viera, B/M from Bronx, New York
  • 19-year-old Trenton Jones, from Bronx, New York
  • 22-year-old Omar Laomand, B/M from Bronx, New York
  • 33-year-old Alexander Valdez, from Baltimore, Maryland
  • 24-year-old David S. McKay, B/M from NY, New York

Soto and Alana face felony charges on account of the amount of counterfeit goods seized.
