Police: Tampa Man charged with having sex with pit bull

A Tampa man has been arrested, accused of having sex with a pit bull, officials said.

Neighbors on N. Marks Street, flagged down Tampa police, after they witnessed what was taking place.

“When officers arrived on scene, they were greeted by a small crowd of residents who were disturbed by their neighbor’s activity with the dog,” a police spokeswoman explained. “Several of the witnesses stated that they yelled at the suspect to stop, but he ignored their commands.”

The man, identified as Bernard Marsonek, 57, was questioned by police and arrested. He faces charges of cruelty to animals and sex with animals, among other charges.

Hillsborough County Animal Services searched Marsonek’s home and took custody of eight large pit bulls.

Tampa police officers seized a gun along with ammunition, from Marsonek, who is a convicted felon.
