Police confirmed that a SunRail train struck and killed a man on the railroad tracks, west of Riverview Avenue near 1st Street in Sanford.
Police say, the man was hit late last night, possibly around 10:00 p.m.
It is unclear whether or not the train operator knew the man had been hit.
Police also say, a conductor spotted the man’s body early on Friday morning.
The identity of the man has not been released.
SunRail service was suspended for at least three hours, leading to confusion for passengers at several station stops.
An investigation is underway.
