An Orlando police officer returned fire, striking a man in the shoulder after he began shooting at police officers on Tuesday night.
The exchange of gunfire took place in the 5200-5500 block of Cinderlane Parkway off N. Lake Orlando Parkway, just before 6:30 p.m.
Police were investigating drug complaints and had made contact with two subjects, when one of them pulled out a gun and began shooting at officers repeatedly.
A police officer returned fire hitting one of the suspects in the shoulder. The man was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for medical attention. The other suspect has not yet been apprehended.
Police have not released the identity of the suspect nor the name of the officer that returned fire.
During the gunfire, the roadway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
