On Thursday, Orlando police released the name of the man who was stabbed to death at a McDonald’s Restaurant on Christmas Day.
The deceased is 52-year-old Steven Lang.
Lang was allegedly stabbed by Jerry Tyson, 38, at the McDonald’s fast food restaurant at 3005 W. Colonial Drive, because he refused to give up his money.
Witnesses told investigators that Tyson approached Lang and attempted to grab money from his hands as he attempted to pay for his order. But Lang refused to give up his money and that’s when Tyson stabbed him repeatedly.
Tyson was apprehended a short time later by a police K-9 in nearby woods east of John Young Parkway. He has been charged with second degree murder, robbery and resisting an officer with violence.
