A man accused of shooting two men during an armed robbery at a laundramat in Eustis last April and who police said, was involved in other violent crimes, was arrested today in Orange County.
Eustis police said, 19-year-old Joshua Poole was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with one count of felony murder, one count of attempted felony murder and robbery.
Police say, Poole and another suspect, Bradley Blanton, 24, robbed and shot Jose Augusto Santos and Ascuncion Cristobal Lopez, each 23 years, on the night of April 10, at the Da Village Coin Laundry on East McDonald Avenue in Eustis.
Lopez, who was transported to Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, later died of his injuries.
Santos was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment and is still recovering from the shooting.
Investigators said, Poole and Blanton were part of an illicit drug and violent crime ring being investigated by a multi-jurisdictional task force, involving federal, state and local agencies.
Following the shootings at the Da Village Coin Laundry, Blanton is believed to have robbed a convenience store in Orange County on June 11, 2011. Blanton later became involved in a physical altercation with Apopka police who shot and killed him, after a vehicle and foot pursuit, police said.
Eustis police and the task force were able to obtain enough evidence to arrest Poole Tuesday.
Poole was taken into custody today, without incident, by the multi-jurisdictional task force in Orange County. Â He has been charged with one county of felony murder, one count of attempted felony murder and robbery. Â He was transported to the Orange County Jail to await a first appearance.
Eustice police are continuing with the investigation.
