A man who took along his 1-year-old and 4-year-old children, when he went to buy prescription pills from a former High School acquaintance was arrested Saturday, Tampa police say.
Jonathan Kelly was arrested after he called to report that he had been robbed by an acquaintance, Jessie Nassicotte, 33, and his friend, Tiffany Miller, 28.
Kelly told investigators as he went to the agreed location at the corner of Interbay and Bayshore Boulevard, he was approached by Nassicotte and Miller, who struck him in the face and stole $60, before fleeing the scene. According to Kelly the pair said to him, “Give me your stuff.”
Police were able to quickly track down Nassicotte and Miller, after Kelly provided a description of their vehicle. Both were arrested near S. Quincy and W. Ballast Point and charged with strong-armed robbery.
But Kelly did not escape arrest either. Police say, Kelly had his two young children with him when he went to the scene of an illegal drug transaction. Kelly was arrested for two counts of child neglect.
The children were unharmed and released to Kelly’s parents, police say.
