Orlando Police have identified the taxi cab driver who was murdered early on Friday morning near Lake Highland in Orlando.
Matthew George Manolas, 35 years, was found shot to death in his taxi cab around 3:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Lake Highland Drive, off north Orange Avenue, police say.
Orlando Police have three men in custody who they believe are connected to the murder of Manolas.
While not yet formally charged with Manolas’ murder, the three committed an armed robbery in the 900 block of north Thornton Avenue and E. Marks Street around 1: 16 a.m. on Friday morning.
Samuel Jackson, 19; Darrell Davis, 22; and Harley A. McMillan, 22, all from Sanford, have been charged with armed robbery and armed kidnapping with intent to commit a felony.
An OPD spokesperson said that first degree murder charges are expected to be brought shortly against the three men.
Manolas is the second cabbie to be murdered in Orlando in ten days.
