Sanford police have identified the man struck and killed by a SunRail train last Thursday night.
The victim is 55-year-old Richard Holley, of Orlando.
Surveillance video shows Holley was hit by a SunRail train on the track, about 500 yards north of the West State Road 46 overpass, police say. Â The train was traveling northbound toward the Sanford terminal and then on to its final stop for the night in Debary.
The following morning, August 29, just after 5:00 a.m., an engineer operating a SunRail train observed a body lying in the middle of the tracks.
It is not clear if the operator of the train knew that something or someone had been struck on Thursday night.
A traffic homicide investigation is currently being undertaken by the Sanford Police Department.
