A man has been charged with murdering his wife and mother-in-law in Lake Nona on Sunday night.
43-year-old Elmer Banner is accused of killing 46-year-old Debra Banner and 70-year-old Carol Minich*, at a home in the 8400 block on Northlake Parkway in the Watersedge subdivision.
Orlando police were called to the home just before 7:30 p.m., on Sunday night and after surrounding the home, a man, later identified as Elmer Banner was seen exiting through the rear door of the residence.
Banner, who refused to obey orders to drop his weapon and get on the ground, was shot by one of Orlando police officers. He was taken to a local area hospital and is in stable condition.
Inside the residence investigators found Debra Banner and Carol Minich, dead.
Two children, found inside the home were unhurt.
Elmer Banner has been charged with two counts of homicide, Orlando police said.
