Orlando police have confirmed that the shooting in a parking garage near the Florida Hospital on Thursday, was a murder-suicide.
The murdered victim is 41-year-old Dr. Dmitriy A. Nikitin, a multi-organ abdominal transplant surgeon at Florida Hospital.
Police have not released the name of the male victim who administered a self inflicted fatal injury, pending notification of next of kin.
The relationship between Dr. Nikitin and the suicide victim is still being determined, police said.
Police were called to the McCray Parking Garage located near the Florida Hospital just after 5:00 pm, where they found the two shooting victims. Both men were rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where they subsequently died.
