Police say, a brother and sister teamed up to burglarize a neighbor’s home and pawn stolen items of jewelry.
59-year-old Mary Zapata and 61-year-old Roger Branam, the brother and sister combo, of Winter Haven, were arrested earlier today.
According to investigators, Zapata entered a neighbor’s home on May 28, and stole jewelry and other items.
Another neighbor reportedly saw Zapata carrying a garbage bag from the back of the victim’s residence to her home, investigators also said.
Zapata provided at least one of the items to her brother, Branam, who pawned the item and the pair split the money he received.
Zapata was charged with burglary and grand theft.
Branam was charged with dealing in stolen property, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana.
