The female victim, along with a male witness told police they were walking into the Prime Outlet Mall on I-Drive in the area of Saks Off 5th Avenue store on Sunday morning around 8:30 am, when she was robbed at gunpoint by a black male.   According to the female victim, as she and another colleague were walking in the direction of Saks, an unknown black male came from around the corner and bumped into her male colleague.  The suspect stated “give me what you got” and the male colleague replied, “excuse me”, because he didn’t hear exactly what the suspect said.

The suspect then produced a chrome colored handgun and pointed it at the female victim, pulled her purse from her shoulder and fled in a southerly direction inside the mall.

A witness who works at the Bebe Store told police that at approximately 8:05 am on Sunday, she was walking to work and noticed a person fitting the suspect’s description walking closely behind her.  Subsequently, the suspect sat down on a bench in front of Perfumemania directly across from the Bebe Store and a few stores away from Saks.  She described the suspect as a black male, with dreadlocks, about 5′ 9″, wearing a dark gray sweat shirt with a hoodie, dark gray shorts and bright green sneakers.

Police responded to the location, and a cordon was set around the mall. Orange County K-9 as well as Chase responded to the area, but met with negative results.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20s, approximately 5′ 9″, average build with dreadlocks.  It is believed that the suspect was wearing a light blue/gray jeans shorts, black hooded sweatshirt under a zip up gray hooded sweatshirt, with bright green/yellow sneakers.
