Today, police arrested two juveniles who were involved in a fight that was caught on camera near Kissimmee Middle School and which was posted on several media sites, including Facebook and Youtube.

The teens, who have not been identified, were arrested around 8:30 a.m., Thursday, prior to the start of the school day.

Police said, one of the teens, is a 14-year-old student who attends the Kissimmee Middle School and the other, a 16-year-old male student from New Beginnings.

On the video, two boys could be seen fighting surrounded by a large crowd of students cheering them on.  There are shouts of “Oh, yeah, Oh, yeah,” after blows are fired at each other, and both end up on the ground.

After the initial fight, two others boys enter the ‘ring’ and also begin to fight.

“It was important for the Kissimmee Police Department to make a very visible and public and arrest in this case,” said Chief Lee Massie, “We needed to make a point to the other students witnessing the arrest that participation in that type of behavior comes with serious consequences.”

Two other students could also be charged, police said.

  1. This is insane and the reason our jails are filling up. When I was a kid, this was a routine right of passage. What the Hell is wrong?
