A man was shot and killed at an intersection in Sanford, just before 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, police said.
Sanford police arrived at the intersection of Celery Avenue and Summerlin Avenue to investigate a traffic crash with shots fired. That’s when they found a man shot and lying on the ground about 50 feet from vehicles. The man was later identified as 25-year-old Freddie Barriner, of Sanford.
Barriner was taken to the Central Florida Regional Hospital in critical condition and later died.
The investigation is ongoing.
