Police: Accused Child Rapist Indicted for Double Murder

Port Orange police said Thursday, that the human remains found in the backyard of accused rapist, James Maxwell, are those of Chasity Starr, 29.

In June, police and Florida Department of Law Enforcement officers spent days searching the backyard of a home belonging to Maxwell, where they found human remains.

Starr was killed in January 2011, authorities say.  

Police also say, Maxwell killed 50-year-old Pamela Sue Will at his home in September 2010, and dumped her body behind International Trade Associates in Ormond Beach.

On Thursday, Maxwell, who is in the Volusia County Jail accusing of raping a 9-year-old girl last December, was indicted on two counts of first degree murder for the deaths of Starr and Will.

Maxwell has a long criminal history including attempted murder and burglary, authorities said.
