Ocoee police are searching for a man who they believe attempted to kidnap an 11-year-old boy on Monday.

The attempted kidnapping happened after the boy left the Citrus Elementary School and was walking in front of the West Oaks Library, at 1821 E. Silver Star Road, in Ocoee.

The boy told investigators he was approached by a white male in a black “beat up, rustic” 4-door vehicle.  The man offered the boy a ride and when he said “no” told the child to get into the car because he had a present for him.

The boy saw an adult he knew standing in the area and walked toward him, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, tall and balding.  He was wearing a black shirt and dark-colored jeans.

The vehicle was last seen heading east on Silver Star Road from Lake Johio Road.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Loretta Ganor at #407-905-3161.
