A man who drove a teen-age girl from Miami to Orlando and forced her to work as a prostitute has been arrested.
Orange County Sheriff’s detectives were called to a 7-11 on South Orange Blossom Trail on December 20th in relation to a possible kidnapping.
Upon their arrival they met with a teen who told them that she accepted a ride from a man to get to her home in Miami. However, when she got into the car, the man told the teen he is a pimp, he now owns her and that she has to work it off. The teen told him that she did not want to be a prostitute, only a ride to her home. But the pimp, who identified himself as “P-Money” drove her to a hotel in Miami and picked up two more males and three other females, all of whom he drove to Orlando.
The occupants of the car then went to a hotel room at the Comfort Suites. After a short stay at the hotel, the teen was told to change into more appealing clothes and “P-Money” dropped all the girls at the 7-11 gas station at Americana Blvd and S. Orange Blossom Trail to work. Once out of the car, the teen hid inside the bathroom of the 711 from the other girls. The employees at the gas station called 911.
The pimp who described himself as “P-Money”, his name is Price Barthelus, 28 years old.
Detectives were able to corroborate the teen’s story and she was able to identify Barthelus when he returned to the location where he had dropped the females.
Orange County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Barthelus and charged him with procuring a person under 18 years for prostitution and forcing, compelling or coercing another to become a prostitute.
