Deputies arrested a man who is a person of interest in the murder of a woman found shot dead in a home in the Dr. Phillips area Sunday morning.
Kristofer Gould was taken into custody in Volusia County, after an arrest warrant was issued for previous domestic incidents stemming form his relationship with 43-year-old Jorgete Acarie.
Acarie was found shot and killed in a home in the 8600 block of Forrest Run Lane in the Dr. Phillips area. An activated alarm led investigators to the home around 5:30 a.m. There they found Acarie’s body in a bedroom and her 2-year-old son unharmed in the residence.
Deputies are on their way to Volusia County to interview Gould, a statement from the Sheriff’s Office said.
