Perry Rules Stain in Casey’s Car Trunk “In”

On Thursday, Judge Belvin Perry ruled that a stain found in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car could be introduced at her murder trial.

Casey’s defense attorneys are hoping to keep out of her murder trial, numerous pieces of evidence, including the stain in the trunk of her car.

Perry is yet to rule on other motions filed by the Anthony defense in their attempt to keep critical pieces of evidence away from jurors, including a heart-shaped sticker found close to Caylee Anthony remains, air samples from Casey’s car and the unusually high levels of chloroform detected in the trunk of Casey’s vehicle.

Casey Anthony is charged with first degree murder in the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.  She has maintained her innocence and has said her daughter was kidnapped by a baby sitter. The child’s remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home, in December 2008.

Anthony is in the Orange County Jail awaiting trial which is expected to commence on May 9, 2011.
