The People Power Hour’s George Crossley is organizing a demonstration in support of the right of independent taxi drivers to work the Orange County Convention Center free of artificial restrictions placed upon them by Mears, Star, etc. via their proxies on the Orange County Commission. The demonstration will be held Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010 at 8:30 am, on the Jackson Street side of the Orange County Administration Building; 201 South Rosalind Avenue in Orlando. Attending will be Dr. Crossley, independent taxi drivers, their representatives and other interested parties, including the public-at-large.

The show debuted in September 2007, and covers social justice; human rights; and civil liberties issues along with important local current events. Past shows have featured Orlando and Apopka CopWatch; Orlando Food Not Bombs and issues of homelessness; Orlando-area children harmed by application of the Jessica Lunsford Act; presidential and Congressional candidates and members; noteworthy newsmakers, authors and scientists; the abuses inherent in the war on drugs; and the growing inadequacies of government to actually do its job instead of perpetually grandstanding and increasing its power at our
expense.
George Crossley, who has more than 30 years of broadcast experience, is a long-time activist focusing on issues of civil liberties, labor unions, homelessness and police accountability. He also has been an organizer with the Service Employees International Union, a civil rights campaigner and activist with Americans for Democratic Action. The program is co-hosted and produced by freelance writer and radio veteran John Hamilton.
