House Democrats today placed their version of the health care reform bill, complete with the public option on line. The bill, some 1990 pages, is massive in length and takes some wading through.
The public option, which would be a government run insurance, is intended to provide coverage for up to 36 million uninsured Americans who cannot get employer-based insurance coverage.
This version of the health care bill also requires everyone to buy insurance, but if they are unable to do so, government subsidies would be provided.

The bill also provides for expanded coverage which, in part, would be paid for by higher income taxes on Americans (individuals) making more than 500,000 annually and couples making more than $1 million per year.
The House is expected to vote on the bill next week.
