A 66-year-old pedestrian was killed crossing a Central Florida road at night.
Just before 10pm last week, a pedestrian trying to cross at the intersection of Howland Boulevard and Lake Helen Osteen Road in Volusia County was struck by an SUV.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian, a 66-year-old Deltona woman, was pronounced deceased on scene by Deltona Fire Rescue.
Witnesses told deputies that the driver had a green light and never saw the woman trying to cross the intersection.
The victim’s family was notified and a crash investigation is underway, according to local law enforcement.
