A female pedestrian was struck and killed on Friday morning on State Road 441 near La Quinta Drive in Orange County.
Troopers said, a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Richard Davis, of Orlando, was heading southbound on SR 441 approaching the intersection of La Quinta, when a pedestrian crossed into its direct path just after 5:00 am.
Davis’ 2011 Ford vehicle struck the 41-year-old female pedestrian as she attempted to cross the southbound lane of SR 441.
The unnamed pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene. Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role.
Troopers said, Davis was not injured as a result of the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
