A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday morning, as he walked on State Road 524, west of Adamson Road in Brevard County, troopers said.
22-year-old Jorge Diaz, of Cocoa, was pronounced dead on the scene, after being hit by Donald Campbell, 40, of Kissimmee around 3:40 am.
Florida Highway Patrol said, Campbell was heading westbound on State Road 524 in the area of Adamson, when he struck Diaz, who was walking in the westbound lane of SR 524, obstructing the flow of traffic.
Campbell could not see Diaz because of the dark conditions. After he was hit, Diaz ended up in the center of the westbound lane of State Road 524.
Diaz died at the scene.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
