Paving to Close I-4 Lanes this Week-end

Drivers traveling near the attractions in Orlando need to watch out for lane closures on I-4—from east of Conroy Road to east of Sand Lake Road—as the Florida Department of Transportation continues resurfacing the westbound side of the interstate. Two lanes are being paved.

All work is occurring during the overnight hours beginning Sunday night, December 16 through Friday morning, December 21; from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The total cost for this project is nearly $3 million. Completion is scheduled in early 2013.

Also, this week-end, work will be continuing on an I-4 overpass, just south of Orlando, and drivers need to be on the lookout for lane closures on eastbound I-4, between State Road (SR) 535 and Central Florida Parkway.

Orange County Roads/Public Works is in charge of this project.  See lane closure schedule below:

· Single lane closures begin at 9 p.m.

· Double lanes closures begin at 10 p.m.

· Triple lanes closures begin at 12:30 a.m., and motorists drive on a temporary lane.

· 5:30 a.m. all lanes re-open
