The number of passengers moving through the Orlando International Airport (OIA) increased by 4.2 percent in February 2011, compared to the same time period last year, a statement from the Authority said. The jump in traffic was equivalent to 2.7 million passengers for the month.
OIA also saw a jump in domestic traffic which climbed by 4.2 percent in February to 2.5 million passengers, well above the national average of 2.8 percent for that month.
International passenger traffic also increased in February by 4.2 percent to 255,321 passengers.
Orlando Executive Airport also experienced an increase in overall operations in February, up nearly 9.9 percent from the same time last year.
Another positive indicator was the growth in cargo traffic which increased 4.8 percent in February compared to reported stagnation in global freight movement numbers, the statement said.
