Pasco County Heath Department has a New Administrator

 

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) today announced the appointment of Mike Napier, MS, as Administrator for the Pasco County Health Department (PCHD). His appointment will be effective Dec. 7, 2012. The appointment was made by State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong with concurrence from the Pasco County Board of County Commissioner’s unanimous request on October 9 to make him the permanent Administrator.

“Mr. Napier brings significant public health expertise and extensive working knowledge of core county health department services to Pasco County,” said Dr. Armstrong. “He is well-suited to lead the Pasco County Health Department and promote health across communities.”

Mr. Napier has 25 years of public health experience, and over the past nine years, he has served as the Administrator for the Seminole County Health Department. Additionally, he worked in Environmental Health programs for five years and an additional 11 years as business manager in Orange, Osceola and Hillsborough counties.

Mr. Napier has a Master’s degree in health sciences from the University of Central Florida and a bachelor’s degree in professional studies from Barry University. He is the current president of the Florida Association of County Health Officers and past president of the Florida Public Health Association.
