Parents, Students, Teachers To Wave Signs For Education Funds

Public sign waving TODAY in support of improved funds for education- Thursday, Marcy 19, 2009- at the corner of Mills & Michigan, Orlando, Florida- 3:30-5:30pm.

Our Chair, spokesman and other members of the group including parents, teachers and students will be available to do media interviews.

Members of Fund Our Schools will gather to support closing tax exemptions and loopholes, increase taxes to support our public school kids, and help teachers best meet the needs of our children by implementing the state Class Size Amendment.  The group will waive signs to engage the public in the school budget crisis issue, as well as deliver handwritten signs to the office staff of State Sen. Andy Gardiner.

On the day after a statewide rally to support a one-cent sales tax increase to fund schools, we will bring that message home to Orlando. We call on state legislators to do their job and fully fund a great public education.

Fund Our Schools is a group of parents, teachers, college students and other members of the Greater Orlando area.  Our sole purpose is to engage citizens in the political process to improve the funding of public schools.  We support the rights of all Florida’s children to have a great, comprehensive public education. We believe that all options for improving revenue to benefit school children should be given serious consideration.
