Metro Diner, famous for its classic diner fare and relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, has opened its sixth location in the Tampa Bay area, the first in the Palm Harbor community.
Located at 35000 US Highway 19N in The Fountains shopping center, the 3,490-square-foot diner seats 112 guests and is operated by Managing Partner Eric Derrico.
“It’s exciting to open Palm Harbor’s first Metro Diner,” said Derrico, a lifelong restaurateur. “Many guests are already familiar with our craveable offerings, having visited other locations, and they’re as thrilled as we are to now have a Metro Diner in their community.”
Known for hearty portions and all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings, Metro Diner serves a menu of comfort food favorites – from a variety of omelets and breakfast platters to BBQ ribs and specialty burgers made with 100% Angus beef. Metro Diner’s menu has earned national recognition, including a feature on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, where the guru of good eats raved about the Iron City Meatloaf.
Topping the long list of Metro Diner fan favorites is the famous Fried Chicken & Waffle, featuring half of a fried chicken atop a Belgian waffle, topped with decadent strawberry butter, and served with signature sweet-and-spicy sauce. “This flavor combination is unbeatable,” Derrico said, “and the homemade strawberry butter is top tier.”
Derrico has always had a passion for treating guests like they are part of the family, which perfectly aligns with Metro Diner’s guiding principles. “I fell in love with Metro Diner when I first ate at the original location in Jacksonville, Florida, and jumped at the chance to get on board as soon as I heard they were expanding.”
