Paid Ad Campaign Targeting Rep. Darren Soto for Voting to Raise Taxes

A paid ad campaign targeting U.S. Representative Darren Soto for voting to raise taxes calls the Central Florida Democrat “completely out of touch.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched a paid advertising campaign targeting Rep. Darren Soto for pushing the largest tax hike in generations.

Republicans are targeting the Democratic Congressman as they look to make gains in the U.S. House. In addition to saying Rep. Soto is “completely out of touch,” the ad says voters “can’t trust Darren Soto,” saying the Central Florida Democrat did not stand with families and supported higher taxes.

“Out of touch Democrat Darren Soto lit the fire of inflation and tried to slap Floridians with the biggest tax hike in decades, all to fund his radical agenda,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole. “Voters won’t forget this betrayal — not now, not next November.”

The script for the ad against Rep. Darren Soto says:

Democrats jacked up inflation, making life more expensive for all of us.

We need help.

Now they’re pushing the largest tax hike in generations.

Darren Soto is completely out of touch.

Darren Soto didn’t stand with families — he stood with higher taxes.

Hammering workers, making them pay thousands more.

Voting against ‘no tax on tips’ and ‘no tax on overtime.’

We can’t trust Darren Soto.

Tell Darren Soto to keep his hands off your hard-earned money.
