OUC Restored Power and Donated Meals to Feed Hundreds of Neighbors

OUC restored power and donated meals to feed hundreds of Central Florida neighbors in Orange County and Osceola County.

OUC made sure that catered meals it ordered to feed power restoration crews instead helped neighbors in need.

From Friday, October 11th to Saturday, October 12th, the Orlando utility donated roughly 1,420 meals, splitting them between the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, City of Orlando, a charitable partner in St. Cloud and the Coalition for the Homeless.

Since OUC was able to restore power quicker than initially anticipated, the utility was left with an abundance of food and wanted to share those meals with its community partners, just as it did after Hurricane Ian in 2022.
