Osceola Crash Leaves One Dead

A vehicle crash early on Saturday morning on Royal Palm Drive in Osceola, left the driver of a Toyota van dead, Florida Highway Patrol said.

William Rivera, 52, of Kissimmee, was traveling southbound around 12:08 am on Saturday morning, on Royal Palm Drive near Tijuana Drive, when according to FHP, he lost control and failed to negotiate a curve.  The Toyota van that Rivera was driving subsequently struck a tree and rotated counter clockwise, before striking another tree on the right side of the vehicle.

Rivera was transported to the Florida Hospital in Kissimmee where he was pronounced dead.

It is not known where or not Rivera was wearing a seat belt.   It is also not clear whether alcohol played a role in the crash, as medical result are pending.
