Orlando police have arrested a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on Sunday night.
Rose Darlaine Pierre, 24, was taken into custody on Monday morning. Pierre has been charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash involving death and attempted destruction of physical evidence.
Pierre stuck and killed a pedestrian near Kirkman and Conroy Roads around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. She then sped away from the scene.
Police were able to locate the vehicle Pierre was driving at a nearby apartment complex. Pierre was trying to cover up the damage done to the vehicle, police said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
