A 45-year-old transient man who forced his way into an apartment on west Colonial Drive on Saturday and raped an elderly woman, was arrested Sunday, Orlando police said.
Dominic Alonze Reed, 45, forced his way into an apartment at the Salvation Army Towers located on 633 W. Colonial Drive around 6:30 p.m., armed with a knife, police also said.
Reed threatened the 82-year-old woman, cut of her clothes and then raped the victim. He then stole her money and fled the scene.
Police said, the woman suffered injuries and is in a local area hospital.
Reed was arrested today (Sunday) in the downtown Orlando without incident. He was wearing the same clothing today as he was when he committed the crime, police said.
Reed has been charged with sexual battery with a deadly weapon, home invasion robbery, armed kidnapping with intent to commit a felony and aggravated battery on a person over 65 years with a deadly weapon.
Reed was booked into the Orange County Jail on no bond.
