A teenager has been killed in a traffic accident in Orange County, Florida Highway Patrol say.
It happened around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday on Lake Underhill Road near Kellgreen Drive.
Troopers say, 19-year-old Michael Castillovetia, was going too fast and lost control of a 2011 Honda, when it hit the curb.
Castillovetia who was traveling east in the right through lane and approaching slower traffic, had attempted to change into the left lane when he struck the curb.
Troopers also say, the Honda then left the roadway on the south shoulder and crashed into a tree.
Castillovetia was transported to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead.
No other cars were involved.
Troopers say, the crash remains under investigation.
It’s heartbreaking to see the memorial set up at the crash site. So many people drive so recklessly in neighborhoods like this and, although this young boy lost his life, he could’ve hit several kids heading home from school or some mom pushing a stroller. Wear your seatbelt folks and don’t drink and drive!
This was an old friend of mine. He lived in the house right next door to me. You will be missed Michael.
