Orlando Teacher, Coach Arrested in OPD Special Victims High School Case

An Orlando teacher and assistant football coach was recently arrested in an Orlando Police Department Special Victims Case involving a 16-year-old high school student.




The Orlando Police Department Special Victims Unit investigated a report regarding inappropriate conduct involving a school authority figure and a 16-year-old student at Lake Nona High School.

Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Jarvis Mcsears Ward, who worked as a mathematics teacher and assistant football coach. He resigned from Orange County Public Schools.

Following the investigation probable cause was developed to charge and arrest Jarvis Mcsears Ward with:

  • Promote Sexual Performance of a Child
  • Authority Figure Soliciting Sex/Conduct with Student (2 counts)
  • Solicitation of Minor via Computer

This Central Florida investigation is ongoing, according to local law enforcement. Prosecutors believe there could possibly be more victims.
