Florida’s major metropolitan cities rank well below the national average in terms of science and engineering jobs, the AP reports.
While the national average is 6.2%, Metro Orlando’s science jobs are a mere 4.9% of the workforce, Jacksonville, 5.5%, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, 3.8%, and Tampa just over 6%.
These findings from the U.S. Census data released on Monday, would be consistent with major metropolitan cities in Florida at the bottom or near the bottom, in terms of good paying jobs, nationwide.
