A transient from Arizona and a 15-year-old run-away teen, teamed up and attempted to rob a truck driver early on Tuesday morning on East Colonial Drive and Bennett Road, Orlando Police said.

Damion Jeffries

25-year-old Damion A. Jeffries, of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested and charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery with a mask and loitering and prowling.  The 15-year-old was reported missing out of Winter Garden Police department jurisdiction.

Investigators said, the transient, Jeffries, and the teen, donned bandannas and approached the truck driver, but took off running, after they were spotted. They fled behind a nearby Best Buy, because they believed the truck driver, who was heading to his truck, was going to call police.

Jeffries and the teen, admitted they were going to rob the truck driver, when questioned by police.  Jeffries told police that it was the teen’s idea, who confirmed this to police.

Police found on Jeffries’ person, a gold chain with two medallions, a gold bracelet and an MP3 player.

The truck driver was able to positively identify the pair. He told police he was unloading his truck at KFC on E. Colonial Drive around 12:30 am, on Tuesday, when he saw the two suspects walking toward him.  That’s when he got into his truck and called police.

Jeffries was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail.
