Orlando Police Recover Stolen Tiffany Earrings from Mall at Millenia

Orlando police recovered stolen Tiffany earrings from a grand theft suspect accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Tiffany & Co. in the Mall at Millenia.




The Orlando Police Department arrested the grand theft suspect accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Tiffany & Co. in the Mall at Millenia. On February 26th at approximately 1:45pm, OPD officers responded to the scene and met with employees who told investigators an unknown male suspect showed up to the store claiming to represent a professional athlete.

Orlando Tiffany Earrings theft arrestThe suspect, later identified as Jaythan Gilder, was shown several high-value pieces of jewelry, including two pairs of earrings worth $769,500. Gilder forcefully took the earrings and resisted an employee’s attempts to stop him. Gilder then ran out of the store and into the parking lot, where he got into a vehicle and fled.

Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the getaway vehicle and the route it was taking toward Texas. Shortly after the theft, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) was notified and spotted the vehicle driving without rear lights on Interstate 10 in Washington County. A traffic stop was made based on the observed violation, and the driver was identified as Gilder.

When Gilder was taken into custody, he resisted arrest and was seen swallowing several objects believed to be the stolen Orlando Tiffany earrings. With the help of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, investigators executed a search warrant to locate the stolen property.




A search of Gilder’s criminal history revealed a similar robbery incident in 2022 at a Tiffany & Co. store in The Woodlands, Texas, as well as 48 separate warrants.

On February 27th, Jaythan Gilder was transferred to Orlando, where he was taken to a local hospital.

OPD detectives recovered three of the four Tiffany & Co. earrings, along with two other unidentified diamond earrings, on March 10th. The final of the four Tiffany & Co. Earrings Gilder swallowed was recovered on March 12th.

Upon recovery, detectives were able to verify the serial numbers on the earrings, confirming they matched the items stolen from Tiffany & Co. on February 26, 2025.

Gilder is currently in the Orange County Jail, facing charges for the Orlando Tiffany earrings theft from OPD for Robbery with a Mask and Grand Theft in the First Degree, as well as his outstanding warrants.
